The development of a low-carbon economy is the trend of today’s world economic development, and energy conservation and emission reduction are the basic focus of my country’s low-carbon economic development. In recent years, the rubber industry has promoted a circular economy of “reduction, reuse, and resource utilization” to vigorously save energy and reduce consumption. As important equipment for the production of rubber products, rubber machinery plays a great role in the energy-saving and consumption reduction of the rubber industry. Rubber enterprises, especially tire enterprises, carry out circular economy, energy-saving and emission reduction mainly starting from the source of equipment use. In the future equipment procurement, “low energy consumption, automation, high efficiency” will be the first choice for equipment procurement. In the development and improvement of rubber machinery products, factors such as improving efficiency, saving energy, and reducing pollution will be mainly considered, and more energy-saving and environmentally friendly rubber machinery will be developed and promoted. At the same time, strengthen close cooperation with rubber products, tire products, and other manufacturers, organically combine technology and equipment, and transform the existing layout and equipment of rubber and tire enterprises to achieve the purpose of safety, energy-saving, environmental protection, and high efficiency.

The open mill is indispensable in the tire and rubber hose industry. Its function is mainly low-temperature plasticizing. It is mainly based on mechanical force, which breaks long-chain rubber molecules into short-chain molecules, reduces the elasticity of raw rubber, and improves plasticity.

The working principle of the open mill is as follows: The rubber material is pulled into the roll gap under the action of friction by means of different linear speeds on two relatively rotating drums, and the rubber material is subjected to strong shearing through the reduction of the rolling distance section. Cutting and extruding, at the same time, oxidative chain scission occurs under certain temperature conditions, reducing elasticity and increasing plasticity, so as to achieve the purpose of rubber mixing.

The traditional drive system is composed of an asynchronous motor + reducer. Compared with the permanent magnet synchronous motor, the asynchronous motor has lower efficiency, lower power factor, larger volume, higher speed, and higher mechanical noise. The reducer is a three-stage deceleration, with large mechanical noise, large mechanical vibration, and low mechanical transmission efficiency, only about 90%, and the transmission efficiency is affected by lubrication conditions, gear running-in degree, and temperature. The high-speed part has a high failure rate, the shaft extension or connection part often sees oil leakage, and the gear oil needs to be replaced regularly.

The low-speed and high-torque permanent magnet motor drive system for the open mill is a new drive system with low speed, high torque, strong load capacity, good speed regulation performance, excellent energy-saving effect, small size, and lightweight.

The system has no high-speed running gear, small mechanical loss, higher system transmission efficiency, good energy-saving effect, and low installation and maintenance costs.

The system adopts special drive equipment, which has no impact at startup, strong overload capacity, complete protection functions, and more stable and reliable operation.
