TYP series high-efficiency permanent magnet variable frequency synchronous motors must be used in conjunction with permanent magnet motor frequency converters. The rotor of this series of motors has a built-in permanent magnet structure, and the special design of different vertical and vertical axis magnetic circuits makes this series of motors have a certain salient pole torque. Therefore, the frequency converter needs to use the maximum torque/current ratio control mode to control the work, so that this series of motors have a higher power factor in the full speed range, a smaller operating current, and lower copper consumption.
Permanent magnet motors use permanent magnets to generate the motor’s magnetic field without the need for an excitation coil or an excitation current, and thus have a series of significant advantages:
High efficiency and energy saving: Due to the high magnetic energy product and high coercive force of permanent magnet materials, permanent magnet motors realize the miniaturization and lightweighting of the motor’s magnetic circuit system, which reduces the motor’s copper and iron losses and improves efficiency. Meanwhile, with permanent magnet material embedded in the rotor, the rotor and stator magnetic field run synchronously, eliminating rotor resistance and hysteresis loss, and improving the efficiency of the motor.
Simple and reliable structure: permanent magnet motors eliminate brushes, slip rings and other structures in traditional motors, reducing points of failure and thus improving reliability. At the same time, the shape and size of the motor can be flexible and diverse, making the design more flexible.
Good force performance index: The torque of permanent magnet motor is large, and under the same power, the volume, weight and material consumption of permanent magnet motor can be greatly reduced, thus it has higher force performance index.
Good speed regulation performance: permanent magnet motors can be adjusted according to the demand and change of working conditions through the attached control cabinet to obtain the ideal speed and large enough torque to match the process requirements, realizing smooth speed regulation.
High power factor: As there is no induction current excitation in the rotor of permanent magnet motor, the stator winding shows resistive load, the power factor of the motor is nearly 1, which helps to improve the efficiency of the motor.
Environmental protection and low noise: permanent magnet motors have low noise and low vibration during operation, which is conducive to improving the working environment and reducing noise pollution.
However, permanent magnet motors also have some disadvantages, such as the high cost of permanent magnet materials, the possibility of irreversible demagnetization at high temperatures, high requirements for control systems and inconvenient maintenance.
